Kashmiri saffron · face cream

Kashmir’s gold, in a face cream

Saffron was part of Indian skin rituals for centuries before it was a jar on a shelf. This cream keeps it simple: four ingredients you can name, one step, morning or night.

  • Kashmiri saffronkesarThe gold. Colour from crocin, scent from safranal — and fine threads in the cream itself.
  • Almond oilbadam roganA classic emollient: softens how dry skin feels and lets the cream glide.
  • Aloe veraghritkumariKeeps a rich cream light, so it sinks in instead of sitting on top.
  • Cardamom & botanicalselaichiThe warm, spiced note under the saffron when you open the jar.

About this product

Kashmiri saffron cream — kesar face cream — is a rich, moisturising cream made with Kashmiri saffron, almond oil and aloe vera, with cardamom and botanicals for its scent. The saffron gives it its warm gold colour; look closely and you will see fine saffron threads in the cream.

Texture: soft and whipped, rich without being heavy. Warmed between the fingertips it melts in and leaves a soft, comfortable finish, so a pea-sized amount covers the whole face.

How to use: on a clean face, warm a pea-sized amount between two fingertips, press it onto the cheeks, forehead and chin, then sweep upward and outward and finish on the neck. In the morning, follow with sunscreen; at night, let it be the last step. Patch-test on the inner arm first if your skin is sensitive. For external use only; keep away from the eyes.

Storage: close the lid after use and keep the jar away from heat and direct sunlight. A 50 g jar gives about 100 applications.

The ritual

One step, four movements

  1. Cleanse

Start with a clean face, patted dry.

  2. Warm

Take a pea-sized amount and warm it between two fingertips for a few seconds.

  3. Press, then sweep

Press it onto the cheeks, forehead and chin, then sweep upward and outward. Finish on the neck.

  4. Finish

In the morning, follow with sunscreen. At night, let it be the last step.

New to it? Patch-test on the inner arm and wait 24 hours first. Keep it away from the eyes.

A long history

Saffron and skin, in India

Saffron has a long history in Indian skin care. Kumkumadi, one of the best-known traditional preparations, takes its name from kumkuma, the Sanskrit word for saffron; and saffron has long gone into the ubtan pastes applied before weddings.

Almost all of India’s saffron is grown in Kashmir, most of it on the karewa plateaus around Pampore, where the crocus flowers for a few weeks each autumn and where our own family grows it. If you cook with saffron as well, that is our jar.

What people ask

The searches, answered straight

These are the questions people type into Google about saffron cream. Here is what this jar does, and what it doesn’t.

  • saffron cream uses

A moisturising face cream: a pea-sized amount on a clean face, in the morning under sunscreen or at night as the last step.

  • saffron cream ke fayde

It moisturises and softens how dry skin feels, with saffron's warm gold colour and scent. It is a cosmetic, not a treatment.

  • saffron cream side effects

Patch-test on the inner arm and wait 24 hours. Stop if it stings or reddens, keep it away from the eyes, and skip broken skin.

  • saffron cream for oily skin

It is a rich cream, made for dry and normal skin. On oily skin, use less, and only at night.

  • saffron cream for men

Yes, exactly the same way: a pea-sized amount on clean skin, morning or night.

  • saffron night cream

It works as one: smooth it on as the last step of your night routine and leave it on.

  • saffron cream price

    ₹329 for a 50 g jar — about 100 pea-sized uses, so roughly ₹3.30 a use.

  • saffron cream for skin whitening

No cream changes the skin colour you were born with, and we don't sell this as one that does.

Honest notes

What it is, and what it isn’t

It is

  • A moisturising face cream for every day
  • Made with Kashmiri saffron — real threads in the cream
  • Almond oil and aloe vera: rich, but not heavy
  • A sealed 50 g jar — about 100 uses

It isn’t

  • A sunscreen — wear one by day
  • A medicine or a treatment for any skin condition
  • A fairness cream — no cream changes your natural skin colour
  • An eye cream — keep it away from the eyes

Giving it as a gift? It pairs with a Kesar Attar or saffron oil — saffron from end to end.

Frequently asked questions

Does this Kashmiri saffron cream contain real saffron?

Yes. It is made with Kashmiri saffron — the cream's gold colour comes from it, and you can see fine saffron threads in the cream itself. The other named ingredients are almond oil, aloe vera, and cardamom with botanicals; the full ingredient list and the manufacturer's details are printed on the jar.

How do I use saffron cream on my face?

On a clean face, warm a pea-sized amount between two fingertips, press it onto the cheeks, forehead and chin, then sweep upward and outward and finish on the neck. In the morning, follow with sunscreen; at night, let it be the last step.

Can I use it every day, morning and night?

Yes. Use it once or twice a day: in the morning under sunscreen, and at night as the last step of your routine. A pea-sized amount covers the whole face.

How long does a 50 g jar last?

A pea-sized amount is roughly half a gram, so a 50 g jar gives about 100 applications: around three months used once a day, or about seven weeks used morning and night.

Is saffron cream suitable for oily or sensitive skin?

It is a rich cream, best suited to dry and normal skin. On oily skin, use less, and at night. If your skin is sensitive, patch-test on the inner arm and wait 24 hours first, and stop using it if it stings or reddens.

Is this a fairness cream?

No. It is a moisturising face cream. No cream changes the skin colour you were born with, and we do not sell this as one that does.

What is the difference between saffron cream and saffron oil?

Texture and how you use them. The cream is a moisturiser you use on its own, a pea-sized amount at a time. Our saffron oil is a carrier oil infused with saffron threads, used a few drops at a time, often under a cream. Choose the cream for a one-step routine, the oil if you like facial oils — or use the oil at night and the cream by day.

Can men use saffron cream?

Yes, in exactly the same way: a pea-sized amount on clean skin, morning or night.

How should I store saffron cream?

Close the lid after every use and keep the jar away from heat and direct sunlight. Use clean, dry fingers, and use it up within the period printed on the jar.
