About this product
Badam rogan is what almond oil is called across most of India — badam is the almond, rogan is the oil. This is the cold-pressed kind: pure oil extracted from hand-graded Kashmiri almonds using traditional low-temperature pressing. No heat, no solvents, no additives — just the nutrient-dense oil Kashmiri families have trusted for generations.
Rich in vitamin E, oleic acid (omega-9) and natural antioxidants, our almond oil absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue. Use it as a daily facial moisturizer, a pre-wash hair treatment, a massage oil for infants, or a carrier oil for essential oil blends.
Each 200ml bottle is cold-pressed in small batches at our Pampore facility, bottled in amber glass to protect the oil from light degradation, and sealed with a tamper-evident cap. Every bottle carries its pressing date.
How to use: for skin, warm 4-5 drops between palms and press gently onto clean face and neck. For hair, massage into scalp 30 minutes before washing. For massage, warm the bottle in a bowl of hot water before use.

What is badam rogan?
Badam rogan is almond oil — badam is the almond, rogan is the oil. The name is used across North India and covers everything from cold-pressed single-ingredient oil to heat- or solvent-extracted oil sold under the same words, so the term alone tells you nothing about how the bottle was made. This one is cold-pressed below 40°C from hand-graded Kashmiri almonds, with nothing else in it.
Which badam rogan is best — what should I compare?
Four things, in this order. One: extraction — cold-pressed keeps the vitamin E and fatty acids that heat and hexane extraction strip, and a bottle that does not say how it was extracted usually was not cold-pressed. Two: the ingredient list — it should say almond oil and nothing else, with no fragrance, mineral oil or preservative. Three: the bottle — amber or dark glass, because almond oil degrades in light, and a clear plastic bottle on a lit shelf is already oxidising. Four: a pressing or packing date on the label, since this is a perishable oil and not a shelf-stable one. Judge ours on the same four.
What makes Kashmiri almond oil different from regular almond oil?
Kashmiri almonds grow on slow-growing valley trees, around 1,600 m up, which gives small, dense kernels and a nuttier oil. Our almond oil is cold-pressed at temperatures below 40°C, which keeps more of the almond's natural vitamin E and flavour than heat-processing does. Mass-market almond oils are often extracted using hexane solvents and high heat, stripping the nutrients. Ours is pure — one ingredient, no additives.
How do I use almond oil for skin and hair?
For skin: warm 4-5 drops between your palms and press gently onto clean face and neck. It absorbs in 2-3 minutes without greasiness. For hair: massage a tablespoon into your scalp 30 minutes before washing. For body: apply to damp skin after a shower. For infants: warm a few drops and use as a gentle massage oil. It is also an excellent carrier oil for essential oil blends.
Is cold-pressed almond oil safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. Cold-pressed almond oil is one of the gentlest carrier oils available. It is non-comedogenic (does not clog pores), hypoallergenic, and rich in vitamin E which soothes inflammation. Always patch-test on a small area of skin first if you have known nut allergies. Our oil contains no fragrance, preservatives, or additives.
How long does a 200ml bottle of almond oil last?
For daily facial use (4-5 drops), a 200ml bottle lasts approximately 3-4 months. For occasional hair or body use it lasts longer. Store the amber glass bottle away from direct sunlight — the dark glass and cool storage preserve the oil's nutrients for up to 18 months after opening.
